William Mann lectures on a variety of topics, including biographical subjects Elizabeth Taylor, Katharine Hepburn, John Schlesinger, and William Haines, as well as “A History of Hollywood, Pre- and Post-Production Code (1934)”; “The Experience of Gay Men and Lesbians in Studio-Era Hollywood (1909-1969)”; and “The Iconography of Stardom,” as represented by such figures as Elizabeth Taylor, Bette Davis, James Dean, Judy Garland, Joan Crawford, Katharine Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Rudolph Valentino, Rock Hudson, and others.

He also teaches writing classes. Various workshops include “Finishing Your Manuscript,” “Getting Published,” “Finding Your Voice,” “Writing Biography,” and “Creative Non-Fiction.”
